Parker County proposes to construct the East Loop from Interstate Highway 20 at Center Point Road to North Main Street (FM 51), approximately 6.65 miles long. The proposed roadway alignment would cross the Byron Farmstead Historic District, which was listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 2007. The Byron Farmstead Historic District includes both architectural and archaeological resources dating from 1893 to 1957. Parker County will be conducting a public meeting on Thursday, February 6 at 6:00 pm at the Mary Martin Elementary School Cafetorium, 719 North Oakridge Drive, Weatherford, Texas. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, inform the public regarding proposed adverse effects to the Byron Farmstead Historic District, discuss possible mitigation measures to offset the proposed effects, and to receive comments from the public and interested parties regarding possible mitigation measures.
The meeting will be conducted in English. Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs, such as the need for an interpreter, are encouraged to contact Ann Keen at (469) 647-4866 at least three (3) working days prior to the Public Meeting. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.
